Out and About
Casa Prana Yama is located between the two villages of Troncones and Mahajua. Both are small fishing villages, with the larger of the two, Troncones, being home to just 1400 permanent residents. Being away from the trappings of typical Mexican tourist cities, means that our area has a much more authentic Mexican feel.
The area is overflowing with options for delicious food and drink, musical venues, and all kinds of activities that take advantage of the beautiful natural setting. You can easily find three to four live music or dance events each week. There are meditation and yoga classes offered daily. You can experience authentic Mexican cuisine at dozens of great restaurants. The natural setting allows for a huge variety of fantastic eco tour adventures, including fishing, kayaking, snorkeling, standup paddleboarding, surfing lessons, mountain biking, horseback riding, and bird watching excursions.
If shopping is your thing, you will be happy to find several tasteful boutiques with classic Mexican treasures for you to take back home. If you venture further from our immediate area, you can find night clubs, golf courses and many more options that the bigger cities of Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa can offer a traveler – all within a 40 minute drive.
Within our area, visitors typically get around by renting cars at the airport. But you can also use bikes (available at Casa Prana Yama), taxis, and our local van service, which goes up and down the main road all day long, charging riders just a nominal fee.
